I planned this fun and entertaining Easter Party for a group of our friends and their kids. I sent out invitations and awaited their responses. Everyone finally responded with a YES and I was getting set to go shopping for all my supplies when it happened! The worst feeling in the world. Every single one of them within a 2hr span e-mailed to tell me they couldn't come after all "something had come up". What gives? I thought. I was feeling rather bummed and called my friend Jenee, which by the way was the first one to tell me she couldn't come. I rattled off to her how sad I was that no one was gonna be able to come and that I must have missed something. Boy did I ever!!
Miles was leaving Sunday afternoon (easter) for Las Vegas for a business trip, I was already bummed cause he wasn't gonna take me, then to top it off my party was canceled!! So, we decided to do an EARLY egg hunt with the girls and I invited my friend Jenee and her daughter to come also. We had breakfast and as we were finishing up and getting ready to head out to hunt eggs Savannah pipes up and says "Mom you need to go pack your bags" I thought she said "you need to go pack dad's bag", I responded "nope, your dad can pack his own!" she repeated her first statement and I repeated mine with more vigor this time. Then Miles said "No, your going to, go pack" I was thrown, the Jenee pipes up "why do you think know one is coming to your party?" I was shocked!! it was all to much to take in at once, then I asked well what about the girls? My mom said "I'm watching them" again I was floored. I had been dooped, by my husband, my mom and my best friend. What luck I have, I'm surrounded by liars. LOL and good ones to boot. So we quickly headed out to hunt eggs before we had to leave to catch our flight. I then ran inside and quickly packed my bag, talk about not being able to think about what to wear and hope whatever you do pack actually goes together. We kissed the girls, said our goodbyes and headed off.
On the way to the airport I turned to Miles and said "You ruined my party!!" he just laughed and said "yeah, but aren't you glad you get to come to Vegas with me?" I said "yes, but you still ruined my party".
Vegas was a BLAST!!! we slept in, stayed out late, ate tons of food, saw some really cool shows, and walked for MILES, literally. I was happy for the suprise, and glad for the time to spend with Miles, but was still pretty bummed about my party when we got home, LOL. I know, I'm nuts!!
